What brings me to PCOS?

Many of us suffer from the problem of infrequent periods or periods occuring with small gaps/intervals. This is quite normal for some as their body is made in a manner that normalises any abberation with time. But for others it might be an indication of a severe health problem.

The eye-opener was a shocking revelation from one of my female friends who was suffering with infrequent periods. She was not only diagnosed with PCOS but also with Diabetes like condition as a result of PCOS.

This alarmed me for 2 reasons---

1)To me infrequent periods causing a disease PCOS was unheard of.
2)Infrequent periods causing a Diabetes like situation was way beyond my comprehension.
